Fighter in Velvet Gloves: Alaska Civil Rights Hero Elizabeth Peratrovich was selected to represent Alaska at the National Library of Congress Book Festival held in Washington D.C. at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

The Conference hosted key-note speakers Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Barbara Kingsolver, Henry Luis Gates Jr., to name a few. A highlight of the Festival is the Parade of States on the Expo floor of the Convention Center. Each state features a book that best represents their state.

It was an honor to be selected. Only wish I could have attended.
